May 15th, precisely one year after the successful Escape, the E.P. album together with Crookram, Bankrupt Recordings is proud to release Sagesse’s instrumental solo album titled Cool Tempo.

Sagesse shifted his creativity for this project. Where on “Escape” he did the vocals and musical production together with Crookram, he now temporarily left his microphone alone to create a full instrumental album. With the help of Crookram as engineer Sagesse managed to create a journey through a wide variety of samples and different drum patterns in an attempt to discover the essence and boundaries of contemporary Hip Hop music.

Two years since his latest release on the Budabeats netlabel, Crookram is finally coming out with a new album. If you're familiar with his previous work this album might be somewhat of a surprise. It has been a couple of years in the making, during which time musical genres like soul, funk, hiphop and library music have been combined with modern downtempo beats and movie samples to create a funky yet dusty seventies vibe.

You can expect scratchy records, mysterious movie samples and a great talent for production, elements which have been praised already by many people involved in the downtempo scene.

Bankrupt Recordings proudly presents its first release from hiphop collaborators Sagesse & Crookram titled Escape, the E.P. This dynamical duo hails from The Netherlands and brings us a surprisingly fresh collection of hiphop tracks. Their music is a rich variety of 70s jazz, reggae and funk samples combined with modern hiphop beats.

Escape, the E.P. is internationally oriented, featuring guest appearances from Nairobi (Escape) and Rotterdam (Patterns of Thought). Warrior is already causing a buzz in the underground scene, sure to become a hit in the forthcoming months.
